  This is the sort of eating place were everybody glances up in a friendly way when you walk in. They are trying to place you: is this a member of one of Pecks, the Trempers, or some other renowned Bear River family? Or is this a visitor we have seen other summers, or perhaps someone new? It's a small town, so each person who appears gets a kindly lookover.

  The menu is straight-forward; the food is good and nourishing. There is free Wi-fi and, after your meal, you are just a short stroll away from Flight of Fancy, one of the best art galleries in Nova Scotia.
